Borders and travel restrictions lifted!

11 April 2022
Karyn

Spring has arrived finally and with it, a pleasant bonus! At last, after two long years, all the borders with Greece have finally opened up again this morning. We've been able to travel freely between here and Greece via the main border posts with ease (no passenger locator forms, no PCR or lateral flow tests, just an up to date Vaxpass) but as of this morning, a whole host of local crossing points have opened up again, meaning part of our Painting Tutorial Holidays later this year will be able to effortlessly cruise over the border and down to the Aegean sea without a 30 minute detour – albeit we now get to travel through the wild mountain passes down to Xanthi, a glorious old Greek city, before heading down to the turquoise warm sea and white sandy beaches to get some interesting seascape painting in.

Also, we have the great news that Henry Jones will be joining us for the week commencing 4th June, to add his extremely proficient tutorage in water colour landscapes to the party. You can check out his work here and I think you'll agree, a technique worth studying.

Also to keep everyone in the Covid loop, all restrictions other than a current vaxpass at entry to both Bulgaria and Greece have now been dropped – meaning life is returning to normal (about time!) and with Ryanair and Wizzair both flying from the UK into Plovdiv, our local airport for less than the price of a tank of four star in London, you'd be mad not to join the fun and live a little.
